The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selection committee announced the Team India squad for the much anticipated Australia tour for three formats. Opener Rohit Sharma and speedster Ishant Sharma were dropped due to injuries.

Former Indian Cricketer Dilip Vengsarkar lambasted the selection committee over the omission of Suryakumar Yadav from the squad for not selecting one of the most talented batsmen.
Speaking to a national Television, the former Indian batsman expressed his dissatisfaction with not incorporating Suryakumar Yadav's name in the list of Team India probable.
Talking about Suryakumar Yadav's talent, Dilip Vengsarkar said he has great potential. He has been scoring runs consistently, what more he has to do to get a place in the Indian team, he added.
With Rohit Sharma being ruled out of the squad, Vengsarkar opined that Suryakumar Yadav will add great strength to the Indian middle order and asked BCCI President Saurav Ganguly to question the reason for the omission of Yadav.
