Former Anantapur MP, J.C. Diwakar Reddy was arrested by the police and denied permission to enter the Venkatapuram village in Bukkarayasamudram Mandal. Along with him a couple of other TDP leaders were also arrested.
According to the media reports, some unknown persons have kept 'Kadapa stone' slabs around TDP leader Kurubu Nagaraju's house in Venkatapuram. This resulted in a fight between the YSR Congress party and TDP party workers.
To solve a small land dispute, Diwakar Reddy along with former MLA Bandaru Sravani went to Venkatapuram. But on their way to the village, they were taken into the police custody by Anantapur Deputy Superintendent of Police G. Veeraraghava Reddy and other police officials.
The police said that this land dispute case is still pending in the court and the matter of planting slabs around the house was brought to the notice of the Mandal Revenue Officer. With the case still pending in the court, both the groups are alleging that their rival group is indulging in the wrong means to grab the land
