They were the unquestioned leaders of undivided Mahabubnagar district, but today they find themselves at political crossroads not knowing where to go and what to do. Leaders like Kothakota Dayakar Reddy, Seetha Dayakar Reddy, former MP Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy and former minister Jupalli Krishna Rao are now waiting to make the key decisions about their political future.
Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy was a key person in the TDP and was the Rajya Sabha MP for several terms. Known to be a close confidant of Chandrababu Naidu, Ravula now finds himself at the crossroads after the bifurcation of the state. The TDP has been completely decimated in Telangana and even party chief Chandrababu Naidu's focus is mainly on Andhra Pradesh. So, Ravula is said to be mulling about his political future. He is likely to join either the BJP or the Congress Party in times to come.
Ditto with Kothakota Dayakar Reddy and Seetha Dayakar Reddy. They are said to be holding consultations with their supporters in Makthal, Narayanpet and Devarakadra assembly constituencies. Based on these consultations, they are planning to join the Congress Party. They are said to be in touch with PCC chief Revanth Reddy. Sources also say that the couple has asked Chandrababu Naidu to decide on their future. They reportedly told Chandrababu that they would join any party that he orders them to join.
As for Jupalli Krishna Rao, he faces an uncertain future after losing the elections in 2018. His arch rival and Congress MLA Harshavardhan Reddy has joined the TRS and the party is giving primacy to Reddy rather than Rao. As a result, Krishna Rao is sulking for quite some time. Sources say that he has been approached by various political parties. But he says she would stick with the TRS. He said there was no question of floor-crossing. However, insiders say that Jupalli is weighing his options and may take a plunge at the right time.
