Update: 2020-06-02 11:40 GMT
On the Telangana formation day, four senior Congress leaders were detained by the Telangana Police in their houses. This move came after the Congress leaders tried to stage a protest over irrigation projects on the Krishna river.

TPCC President and Nalgonda MP N Uttam Kumar Reddy, TPCC Working President and Malkajgiri MP A Revanth Reddy, Bhongir MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, former minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah were the leaders detained by the cops.

The state Congress unit decided to stage a protest as they are alleging that the TRS party is not focusing on the irrigation projects in the state that were sanctioned back when the Congress was in power.

Uttam Kumar Reddy told the police personnel that his arrest is not valid as he is an MP and opposed the move to arrest the T Congress leaders and headed to the Gandhi Bhavan after he was permitted to go out of his house.
