There is no stopping for India’s freestyle wrestler Ravi Kumar Dahiya at the ongoing Olympics. Taking forward his winning streak, Ravi Kumar Dohiya forayed into the men’s final event.

In the semi-finals, Ravi Kumar Dohiya and Kazakhstan's Nurislam Sanayev locked horns with each other. Despite the opponent getting the lead in the first few minutes of the bout, Ravi Kumar made sure that he made it to the finals.

At one point, it appeared that Kazakhstan's athlete would register an easy win in the semis. After registering consecutive points, Nurislam Sanayev gained nine points initially restricting Ravi Kumar to two points.

Keeping India’s hopes alive, he bounced back and focused on cutting short the difference in points. Eventually, Ravi Kumar Dahiya won the bout, securing a spot in the finals.

India can expect a medal from Ravi Kumar Dahiya. If not Gold, he can bring home a silver medal. The freestyle wrestler is very close to making history to emerge as the fourth athlete in the game to bag a medal for the country at the Olympics.

The first time India won a medal at the Olympics was back in 1952 after KD Jadhav bagged a bronze. In 2008 Sushil Kumar and Yogeshwar Dutt brought one bronze medal each. Again in 2012, Sushil Kumar won a silver medal.
