For a second day in a row, India saw a rise in single day infections. In the past 24 hours, 67,208 new cases were reported taking the toll of total infections in the country to a whooping 2,97,00,313.
Looking at the fatalities, 2,330 more people have lost the battle with the deadly virus in the past 24 hours, pushing the Covid death count to 3,81,903, with a mortality rate of 2.78 percent.
On the other hand, India reported more than one lakh fresh recoveries for one more time after 1,03,570 people were declared cured of the virus in the past 24 hours. So far a total of 2,84,91,670 patients have beaten the deadly virus.
In the past 24 hours, Kerela witnessed the highest cases with 13,270, while Tamil Nadu (10,448), Maharashtra (10,107), Karnataka (7,345) reported the next highest cases
As per the data shared by the Union Health Ministry, a total of 26,55,19,251 beneficiaries were given the vaccine doses, while 34,63,961 people were vaccinated on Wednesday alone.
