Galla Jaydev's Fate Hangs In Balance

Update: 2019-05-28 13:14 GMT
YCP Rajya Sabha MP Vijay Sai Reddy alleged Returning Officer was partial to TDP while counting the votes in the poster ballot in Guntur Parliament Segment. He complained, '9,700 votes in the Lok Sabha Constituency weren't counted citing a minor technical glitch. Returning Officer declared Galla Jaydev as winner with a majority of 4,200 votes. We will proceed legally over this injustice'.

Reportedly, Returning Officer hasn't considered the cover containing 9,700 postal ballot votes citing lack of 13-C Number on it.

Except in Guntur South, YCP bagged all the Assembly Constituencies (Mangalagiri, Thadikonda, Ponnuru, Tenali, Prathipadu, Guntur North) in Guntur Lok Sabha Segment. Shockingly, Guntur TDP MP Candidate Galla Jaydev was declared winner in the Lok Sabha Polls even before the counting of 9,700 postal ballot votes.

YSR Congress Party complains that it faced defeat in Guntur and Srikakulam because of the irregularities. In Srikakulam, Sitting MP Rammohan Naidu retained his seat with a margin of 6,658 votes. Except in Ichchapuram and Tekkali, YCP won all the other Assembly Segments in this Parliament Constituency.
