For any human, it takes time to come out of the grief of losing the loved ones. The memories of them drown us in the sorrow and they stay a very long time. But, a lady home guard in Odisha returned to the duty just a couple of days after losing her teen daughter.

Gauri Behara, a home guard working at the Pipili PS in Puri, Odisha lost her 13 year old daughter who was suffering from cancer. On 24 April, at 8 pm, Gauri was in the COVID 19 duty and got a call that her daughter's health was critical.

As the news reached her ears, she rushed to the house riding a bicycle more than 3 kilometres. By the time she reached home, her little one was found dead. This is a great painful moment for any mother to see her child lying down without any movement.

But, the braveheart grieved for two days and came back to duty in spite of her hurtful pain. Her financial situation made her do this as her husband left her several years ago and she stays with her aged parents. In addition to that, she has a mentally retarded brother who needs to be taken care of.

By keeping all these in the mind, she stood up suppressing her pain and walked to the duty. This news of the braveheart has indeed shaken the country. She also urged the government to help them financially.
