His housemaid Saraswati Patra, who takes care of the wellbeing of his children passed away due to diabetes-related ailment. She has been working for over six years in Gautam Gambhir's house.
On knowing that her relatives were finding it difficult to take the body to her native village of Jajpur in Odisha, Gautam Gambhir spoke to her relatives and performed her last rites.
