After Supreme Court has lifted the ban on bar dancers, Maharashtra Government decided to regulate dance bars keeping the safety of the dancers in mind. A committee of 25 members prepared fresh guidelines.
Maharashtra Dance Bars New Rules:
Touching bar dancers or throwing currency notes at them will lead to jail term along with a penalty of Rs 50,000.
Dance Bars could be operated till 11.30 PM only.
A huge fine of Rs 25 lakhs will be imposed on the management if found guilty of doing illegal operations.
Dancers can't wear skimpy outfits.
Permissions willn't be granted to Dance bars within 1 km of educational institutions or places of worship.
CCTV Cameras must be installed at the entrance of Bars and on the Dance Floor. Owners will have to keep the footage for 30 days. If a dancer is exploited, Owner will be fined Rs 10 lakhs or faces 3 year imprisonment.
Visitors of Dance Bars should be above 25 years of age and must carry ID poof.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis cabinet members approved the proposed draft law of dance bars. The Bill will be tabled in the ongoing Assembly sessions.
