Keeping an end to the long waiting, the State Election Commissioner (SEC) for Telangana Partha Sarathi has released the election schedule for the much-awaited GHMC elections.
SEC Parthi Sarathi who addressed the media while releasing the schedule said the nomination process for the civic body will kickstart from tomorrow. The nominations will be accepted for three days, on 18,19 and 20 of this month.
The received nominations will be examined by the authorities on the 21st of this month. The candidates will be permitted to withdraw their election nominations till 3 PM on November 22.
On the very same day, i.e, November 22 the final list of the candidates will be announced along with the Election symbol dedicated to the candidates running in the polls.
Coming to the polls, the elections will be commenced on the 1st of December. The polls will be conducted from 7 AM to 6 PM. Vote counting will commence on the 4th of December. Election results will be announced on the same day.
The SEC made it clear that the civic body polls will be held using the postal ballots. The 2020 GHMC polls will be held on the grounds of the reservations assigned in the previous elections.
With only weeks remaining for the civic body polls, it is interesting to know how the TRS, BJP, and Congress will design the election campaign to woo the voters. While BJP is trying to take forward its winning spree, TRS is aiming to balance Dubbaka's loss by winning the GHMC polls.
On the other hand, Congress, which was restricted to third place in the Dubbak by-elections wants to win the GHMC polls.
