On the occasion of the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected Corporators, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation(GHMC) Council has met for a meeting on Thursday.
Shortly after the meeting, the oath-taking ceremony was conducted by the Presiding Officer. The TRS has nominated Rajya Sabha MP Kesava Rao's daughter Gadwal Vijayalakshmi and Sri Latha Sobhan Reddy as Corporator and Deputy Corporator respectively.
The nominations from the ruling party gave a rude shock to the aspirants of Mayor and Deputy Mayor posts. Several aspirants have reportedly expressed their dissatisfaction after the party didn't name them in the nominations.
Vijaya Reddy, PJR's daughter, one of the aspirants for the Mayor's post expressed her anger by leaving the council meeting without taking oath as the Corporators.TRS leaders were shocked by her behavior reportedly.
However, she came back to the Council meeting after the TRS leaders called her and requested her to come back by saying that this could earn a bad image to the party and her as well.
After the meeting, the media asked her whether she is unhappy with the Mayor's selection. Vijaya Reddy replied that she is not at all unhappy with the process and urged everyone to not believe in such rumours.
