Maharashtra Education Minister Girish Mahajan was caught on cam holding a revolver in hand and taking part in a search operation for a leopard at Chalisgaon of Jalgaon district. This incident happened in North Maharashtra on Monday.
Forest and Police Personnel were given the permission to shoot the Leopard which has been killing the people in the region. Girish Mahajan who is a 5-time MLA joined the team to hunt the human-eating wild animal.
Girish Mahajan defended the move to kill the Leopard all by himself. 'That Leopard killed 5 people in Jalgaon district in past one-and-a-half month. I consoled the family members of the deceased on Monday. While we were passing, A forest official spotted the Leopard and then we decided to hunt it down. Being a legislator and in-charge minister of the district, I decided to participate in the operation instead of resting in my car,' he said.
However, The operation wasn't successful and Forest Officials were yet to kill the leopard.
