A 11-Year-Old Girl was offered a punishment of standing in Boys Toilet for not turning up in school uniform. This incident happened at a private school in BHEL, Hyderabad.
The 5th Standard Student's Father filmed a video in which the victim described the sequence of events. 'When I was on my way to the class on the 1st Floor, PT Teacher caught Me for not wearing uniform. Few more staff including English & Telugu Teachers gathered at the spot and questioned how could I turn up in civil dress. I pleaded them to see My Diary. Nobody paid heed to what I was saying, instead they screamed at Me and I was terrified. Then, They decided to put Me in Men's Toilet. I was made to go back to my classroom only after standing in the loo for 5 minutes,' she narrates.
Actually, Girl's Mother had written in the Diary that Uniform was wet after washing and so she should be permitted to be in civil clothes for that particular day.
The Girl was so shaken that she refused to go back to school even after her Father assured no one would trouble her anymore as he had already brought the matter to the notice of school management.
Child Rights Activists termed the incident as violation of Prevention of Sexual Offences against Children (POCSO) Law. They are planning to approach HRC to press criminal charges against the School & Teachers.
