Four girl students have been dismissed from a government school at Tiruchengode in Namakkal district of Tamil Nadu after it was found that they had consumed beer inside the class room on Tuesday.

On November 16, school authorities declared a holiday for the school due to heavy rain. As many as seven Class 11 students came to school to celebrate one of their birthday on that day. As per reports they brought beer in soft drink bottles and consumed it in the classroom.

The students were later found drunk in the classroom by the class teacher. The class teacher found four of them in an inebriated condition. She informed the headmistress and they took them to the hospital who confirmed the alcohol levels in body. The tests then confirmed that all the four students had consumed alcohol.

The headmistress constituted a panel to conduct an inquiry. The four students apparently confessed to have had alcohol during an inquiry by the school. The chief educational officer ordered to offer TC'S to four girls and the other three students were let off with a stern warning.
