Inspired by Rahul's Speech, Goa Cong Chief Quits!

Goa Congress President Shantaram Naik submitted his resignation to his post saying Rahul Gandhi's speech at the party plenary about making way for young leaders inspired him to do so.

On Sunday, Rahul Gandhi told he wants the younger generation to come forward and lead the party.

Shantaram Naik was the first senior leader in the party to resign after Rahul's speech. The 71-Year-Old sent his resignation to the AICC. It was only on July 8th last year, Mr. Naik was appointed as the chief of Goa Congress. He was elected to Lok Sabha in 1984 and became Rajya Sabha MP twice.

When Rahul Gandhi went to deliver the concluding speech at the plenary, There was no other leader on the dais. Congress President told the stage was kept empty as he wants the younger generation take the responsibility of reviving the party.
