Chief Electoral Officer Gopalakrishna Dwivedi told Election Commission declared Andhra Pradesh as 'Expenditure Sensitive State'. He informed that EC is going send highest number of Observers to the Telugu State to curtail bad influence of Money, Liquor and Paid Articles on the Voters.
Mr.Dwivedi directed Media Certification Monitoring Committee (MCMC) to remain alert for identifying Paid Articles in Andhra Pradesh. He passed orders to set up strong Control Rooms in every District for monitoring the situation. 'Paid Articles and Social Media will be crucial factors in the upcoming elections. MCMCs should detect such promotional campaigns and include them in the election expenditure of the candidates,' he said.
According to Chief Electoral Officer, Count of Applications seeking removal of Invalid Votes reduced gradually in the past two days. Seeking removal of vote without the consent of Voter is a criminal offence. Cases have been filed in few districts already on such fraudulent practices.
Election Commission will be using VVPAT Machines for the first time in AP during the upcoming elections.
