Tamilisai Shocker To TRS Govt: Guv Summons Transport Minister

Update: 2019-10-17 13:11 GMT
Telangana Governor Tamilisai has sent shockwaves among the KCR government by directly calling up Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay to know about the measures being taken by the department to end the RTC strike. Interestingly, this phone call comes barely days after Tamilisai met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to apprise them of the ongoing RTC strike.

Even as the phone call came, the Transport Ministry went into a tizzy. Minister Ajay was in a meeting with CM KCR on the same issue. So, he dispatched his principal secretary to the Raj Bhavan to apprise the Governor of the latest situation. He explained to her the measures being put in place to tackle the strike. He also explained about the alternative arrangements being made to ensure that the general public are not put to any inconvenience.

Interestingly, even as the government is grappling with the RTC strike, other government employees have also given a notice to the Chief Secretary and have put forth their demands. They also said their support to the RTC employees agitation will continue.  Both these developments are being seen as setbacks to the TRS government. Meanwhile, cornered KCR held long meetings with senior ministers and officials on the RTC issue. Rajya Sabha MP K Keshava Rao and Puvvada Ajay were also present at the meeting.
