HD Kumaraswamy-led Karnataka Government wishes to make it mandatory for State Government Employees to send their children to Government Schools so as to raise the quality of education and facilities in these educational institutions.
A New Education Policy is likely to be chalked out to encourage enrollment in the Government Schools. Making Government Employees send their children to Government Schools with make them take the responsibility of upping the standards of education.
Karnataka Minister for Primary Education N Mahesh, however, appears skeptical whether any such policy will stand in a court of law. State Government has sought legal opinion to prevent any such hurdles before introducing the new policy.
Actually, The new move is based on the 2017 report of Kannada Development Authority (KDA) on raising the standards of Government Schools. It not only suggested sending children of Government Employees to Govt Schools but also recommended punishment to those who violate the rule.
