Till a few months ago, he was the lord of all he surveyed. The police was at his beck and call. The officials literally bent backwards to do his bidding. But, today, he is out of power and the administration, which once prostrated before him, is keeping distance from him. Some officials are not even answering his phone calls. Yes. We are talking about former home minister and deputy chief minister of Andhra Pradesh Nimmakayala China Rajappa.
Though he was one of the rare ministers to have been re-elected to the assembly, he wields no real power. Despite being an MLA, no officer takes is orders and wants to be seen with him as his party is out of power. The administration in the constituency is doing the bidding of YSRCP's constituency incharge Davuluri Dorababu. It is his word that is being honoured, not that of the sitting MLA. Every morning, the officials of various departments are going to Dorababu to take orders.
Poor China Rajappa is left in the lurch. In fact, this was his problem even when he was in power. He was the deputy chief minister, but the real power lay with Chandrababu Naidu alone.
