Has Munugode demoralised RS Praveen Kumar?

Update: 2022-11-25 08:25 GMT
Is the magic and the promise of  IPS officer-turned-politician RS Praveen Kumar waning? It appears so. The number of people following him have come down and his meetings are getting sparser attendance especially after the Munugode byelections. Though the party has put on a brave front, the dismally low number of votes polled by the party has rattled the workers.

Severa BSP workers are alleging that Praveen Kumar does not have democratic style of functioning. He does listen to the suggestions, but rarely implements them. He begins with a fixed notion and never changes his opinions. As a result, more and more people are getting disenchanted with his working style, say those who have left the BSP recently.

Another major issue lies with the divisions within the scheduled castes. The deep divide between the Malas and the Madigas too showing up in the day-to-day activities of the BSP. The Malas, who are numerically less compared to the madigas, are an aggrieved lot. Several Mala leaders are beginning to complain that Praveen Kumar is promoting only Madigas and is largely ignoring the Malas.

Across the BSP cadre and leaders, there is disenchantment over the way the SWERO group formed by RS Praveen Kumar when he was administering the SC hostels , are dominating the affairs of the party. These SWEROs have little understanding of politics and pragmatics. As a result, their decisions and actions lack political acumen, say the disgruntled BSP leaders.
