What's wrong if MLAs ask for Money?: Ex-PM

This is how a former Prime Minister and Political Party supremo reacted to the sting operation which exposed his party MLAs demanding crores to vote in favor of Rajya Sabha nominees.

India Today sting operation exposed Karnataka Legislators placing a demand of Rs 5-10 crore to back the candidates in race of Rajya Sabha berth. There was uproar all over the country regarding this issue. Even chief Election Commissioner and Political Parties voiced their opinion against it.

To everyone's shock, Ex-PM and Janata Dal (Secular) supremo HD Deve Gowda questioned, 'What wrong if our MLAs ask for money to vote when they require money to contest elections?'.

Deve Gowda feels the sting operation was nothing but a political conspiracy. He says there is no need to make fuss about it in a country where corruption is integral part of politics.
