Heavy Flood Become Another Reason For AP-Telangana Fight!

Update: 2022-07-19 11:07 GMT
As a result of the Telangana movement reaching the peaks, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh were divided into two states, and it has been eight years since the bifurcation happened. Things are not going well between the two states as some or the other issues pop up regularly. Now both states have one more issue to fight.

It is known that the recent rainfall is the highest we have seen in recent times and the heavy downpour took the water level of the Godavari river to a higher level resulting in the low-lying areas getting drawn. The issue has now turned political with both states attacking each other.

The fight was started by Telangana Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar, who surprised everyone by placing a demand that the mandals given to Andhra Pradesh at the time of bifurcation should be merged with Telangana so that there will be no issues with the flood water.

He even blamed the other state over the Polavaraam project and said that the height of the Polavaram project should be reduced or else the areas in Bhadrachalam will have to face permanent risk with the floods as the water levels remain high.

Needless to say, his comments got a sharp reaction from fellow Telugu state Andhra Pradesh. The Ministers hit back at him and advised him to not pass such comments as there is no need.

Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Botsa Satyanarayana took a few steps and said that the issue will be resolved if Andhra Pradesh and Telangana merged again.

Everyone agrees that the Godavari river did not see a flood at such a big level. Instead of ramping up the safety measures and help work the Ministers are playing a blame game against each other, which is not a good thing.

Though a few families wee shifted to safety in both states and financial assistance was announced, many people lost their livelihood and houses due to the heavy flood. It is the need of the hour to address the issue and extend help to the victims in the best possible way. Instead of that, the leaders targeting each other will not do anything here.
