Hyderabad which has been suffering with huge rainfall since a few days, registered a record rainfall in 24 hours. Roads in several places were filled with rainwater and many vehicles were washed away.
The heavy rainfall resulted in 8 casualities in old city after a wall collapsed and fell on two houses.
This shocking incident took place in Ghouse Nagar in old city. Nine victims including three children lost their lives. Four others sustained injuries.
The injured were shifted to Owaisi hospital for treatment. Rescue operations in the area are underway.
In other incident, eight people have reportedly lost their lives due to heavy rains in Bandlaguda.
