Rajasthan Royals Co-Owner Raj Kundra on Wednesday issued a statement saying he was held guilty by the Supreme Court appointed Justice Lodha Committee despite no evidence against him.
A day after the Lodha Panel suspended him for life, Raj Kundra said its a very depressing day for him as his integrity has been questioned. He alleges the Committee has no evidence against him but still he was deemed to be guilty. He requested the panel to share the evidence it had against him as he wishes to know what basis his hard-earned reputation has been destroyed. Terming suspension of Rajasthan Royals as unfair, Mr. Kundra who holds only 11.7% stake in the franchise questioned how one man's actions can affect the whole team including other co-owners, management team and players so badly.
Lodha Committee delivered a landmark judgement on Tuesday. It suspended Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals from the Indian Premier League for 2 years for alleged role in spot fixing and betting scandal. Both Raj Kundra and CSK's Gurunath Meiyappan were found guilty of betting and they were suspended for life from any cricketing activity undertaken by the BCCI.
