Hero Shivaji launched a hunger strike in Guntur on May 2nd for achieving Special Category Status. He appealed people of 44,000 villages, political parties, social activists and others to take part in the movement.

Responding to the 48-hour long protest, BJP Leader and AP Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas questioned to which party does Hero Shivaji belongs to and accused him of taking up deeksha for Special Category Status as he craves for popularity.

Describing BJP as a party with discipline, Kamineni Srinivas claimed the saffron party has got a clarity on special status. He added, 'Venkaiah Naidu, Ram Madhav and Haribabu were taking care of all the provisions of AP Reorganisation Bill including Special Status'.

On the other hand, Shivaji's deeksha reached second day. Mala Mahanadu, Tribal Students Organization, BC Sankshema Sangham and AAP Activists extended support to the actor-turned-politician.
