High Court dismissing the PIL filed against Pragathi Nivedhana Sabha came as huge relief for TRS Government. The entire plan to display the progress of the state under TRS rule & unmatchable strength of the Ruling Party could have been spoiled had if the Top Court's decision wasn't in favour.
Environmental Protection Agency Chief & Advocate Pujari Sridhar moved the PIL seeking an order denying permission for Pragathi Nivedhana Sabha. He argued TRS Government should rely on media and social media to unveil the progress report instead of spending Rs 200 crore for mobilizing 25 lakh people. He complained that public and environment will get adversely affected with such massive public meetings.
Advocate General informed High Court that all the arrangements for Pragathi Nivedhana Sabha have been completed already and measures were taken to prevent any sort of inconvenience to the public. High Court Judge who got satisfied with the assurance given by the State Government quashed the petition.
