In what it could be a huge victory for the ruling TRS government, the Hugh Court gave its nod to demolish the existing Secretariat and build a new secretariat.  This paved a way for CM KCR's dream to construct a new Secretariat in Hyderabad.

The issue which went through many twists and turns entered the state High Court with the opposition which is against demolishing the secretariat and constructing a new secretariat.

Two-judge PIL panel comprising  Chief Justice Raghvender Singh Chauhan and Justice Abhishek Reddy heard around  10 different petitions including writ pleas filed by Congress MLC Jeevan Reddy

The Court squashed all the petitions and gave its nod to the TRS government to construct a new Secretariat by demolishing the current secretariat.

During the prolonged hearing, the government successfully convinced the High Court and backed the resolution of the state cabinet.

This gives a sigh of relief to KCR who is very firm to construct a new Secretariat with all the facilities. The government earlier announced the budget for the new building will be around Rs 180 crores.
