Congress MLAs Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Sampath Kumar were expelled from Telangana Assembly citing misbehavior during Governor's Address in March 2017. The expulsion was challenged in the High Court and an order was delivered granting permission for the Legislators to attend Assembly.
However, Telangana Assembly hasn't honoured the High Court verdict. Today, A Single Judge Bench served Show-Cause Notice to Speaker Madhusudhanachary for contempt of court. Notices were served for Law Secretary V Niranjan Rao and Assembly Secretary V Narasimha Charyulu over delay in restoring the membership of the Two MLAs. Both of them have been asked to appear before the court on September 17th.
In addiction, High Court issued notices to SPs of Nalgonda and Gadwal Districts for failing to restore the gunmen to the Two Congress Legislators. Next hearing of the case is on August 28th.
HC delivered this order within 24 hours after KCR declared Courts can't interfere in decisions taken by State Assembly.
