High Court Slams AP Govt Over Nimmaggada Issue

Update: 2020-07-17 08:23 GMT
In a rude shock to the Andhra Pradesh government, the High Court slammed the government over State Election Commissioner (SEC) Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar issue and asked why Nimmagadda has not appointed as SEC even after Supreme court refused to issue stay order.

The issue reached the High Court with Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar knocking the doors of the court over the government not appointing him as SEC reportedly. The court postponed the next hearing in this case to Friday and asked the government to file an affidavit

After postponing the hearing, the Court made crucial recommendations and directed Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar to meet Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan and submit a letter to request him to implement the judgment.

Earlier, the AP government led by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy brought an ordinance to sack Nimmagadda Ramesh Prasad as SEC and appoint retired Judge as the new SEC.

Following this, SEC moved the High Court in this regard and the court ruled out the verdict in favour of Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar. The row is still going on.  Let's see what more the issue is going to offer.
