How BJP walked into TRS trap?

Update: 2021-04-22 06:42 GMT
The ruling TRS and KCR have shown that they are past masters in the art of setting a trap and make the enemies walk into it. Ahead of the bypoll to the Lingojiguda division bypoll in GHMC, the TRS had sent feelers that it would not put up a candidate against dead corporator Ramesh Goud's son Akhil Goud in the bypoll.

The BJP fell for the bait hook, line and sinker. It discussed the issue and decided to pursue the matter. Later, BJP leaders, including Ramachandra Rao and Perala Sekhar Rao met KTR to thank him. This led to a backlash among the party cadre and the general BJP supporters. This has created a impression that both the BJP and the TRS were hand in glove. The party had lost its prestige and was forced to explain why its leaders had met KTR in the first place. This also caused a rift among the top leaders. All this has lowered the BJP image.

Now it emerges that the TRS will not Contest the Lingojiguda bypoll, but the Congress will. The Congress candidate is a former TRS leader and when there is polling, the TRS cadre will vote for the Congress candidate. Soon after the election, the Congress candidate will join the TRS. So, without contesting an election, the TRS will have another corporator and both BJP and the Congress will be shown as incompetent and ineffectual. Thus, the TRS laid a trap and the BJP walked into it knowingly.
