The Association For Democratic Reforms (ADR) Report says average annual income of 3,145 Sitting MLAs in the country is Rs 24.59 lakh. These findings are based on the affidavits filed by the MLAs. As many as 941 MLAs didn't declare their income in the affidavits.
224 Karnataka MLAs have the highest average annual income of Rs 111.4 lakh. 256 Maharashtra MLAs stood at second position with an average annual income of Rs 43.4 lakh.
711 MLAs down South have the highest average annual income of Rs 51.99 lakh. Whereas, 614 MLAs in the Eastern Region have the lowest average annual income of Rs 8.53 lakh.
63 Chhattisgarh MLAs have the lowest average annual income of Rs 5.4 lakh. 72 MLAs of Jharkhand Assembly get paid Rs 7.4 lakh on an average.
There are only 258 Women MLAs (8 percent). While the Male MLAs average annual income is Rs 25.85 lakh, Female MLAs average annual income is Rs 10.53 lakh.
