In 2019, The contest between TDP Candidate Kesineni Nani and YCP Candidate Prasad V Potluri is so close. Tension prevailed till the last few rounds as the margin of difference is less. In the end, Kesineni Nani retained his seat with a majority of 8,238 votes. While TDP Candidate received 575,498 votes, YCP Candidate got 566,772 votes.

Huge Drop in majority would certainly worry Kesineni Nani although he managed to have the last laugh. The kind of grip Kesineni Nani have on the constituency and his connect with locals fetched him victory inspite of YCP wave.

Late entry and lack of mass appeal proved costly for PVP. He could have been on the winning side by putting some extra effort when there is YCP wave. PVP missed a golden opportunity here.
