Huge Negative Campaign against Sachin

As per 4th Schedule of Indian Constitution, President have the powers to nominate 12 achievers to Rajya Sabha for outstanding contribution to art, science, literature and social services. Sachin Tendulkar and Rekha are two of them to get nominated to the Upper House in 2012 in this manner. However, Their poor attendance drew strong criticism.

National Average Attendance of an MP is about 78 percent. Whereas, Sachin and Rekha had an attendance of just 7 percent and 5 percent respectively.

Samajwadi Party sought the dismissal of both Sachin & Rekha from Rajya Sabha citing poor attendance. Arnab Goswami of 'Republic TV' began a big debate on whether Sachin should resign as MP or not. He even dared to say Sachin lacked minimum respect for Parliament. 'Sachin tours London for watching Wimbledon Matches and does Endorsements, but he don't have time for Parliament Session,' he alleged.

In the poll conducted by Republic TV, 92 Percent respondents opined Sachin Tendulkar shouldn't continue as MP anymore. The legendary cricketer was even trolled on social media.
