Another Setback For BJP?

Update: 2018-02-11 10:42 GMT
PM Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah duo have larger plans for their party they have already revealed their plans several times.  Bringing BJP into the power in Southern states.. making India Congress-free is their main goals.

Though they are trying hard to get a grip in other states nothing is working in their favour.  They are unable to win the trust of voters in Tamil Nadu, Kerala,  AP, Telangana where regional parties are strong players in the political arena here.  The only hope they have is on Karnataka.  They came to power in Karnataka in the past and they have reliable party cadre as well.  But the present situation appears to be not favourable to BJP.

Congress party is presently ruling in Karnataka Siddaramaiah is the CM in the state.  Unlike Congress tradition in the past where they used to change at least two to three CMs in five years, they have continued Siddaramaiah.  Moreover, they are giving enough indications that they are going to continue him as the CM if they win the elections.  Though there were corruption charges on his government, the majority of the voters feel that his government is better than the BJP's Yeddyurappa government.

On the other hand, JD-S is seriously trying to achieve power in the state.  It is known that JD-S was out of power or the past several years one can not underestimate their strength.  They may achieve a considerable number of seats and they can split the anti-incumbency vote even though they may not achieve majority.  Last but not the least, BJP is trying to play religion card but the situation of Karnataka is completely different from the Northern states like UP.

Recent surveys are suggesting hung assembly in the upcoming elections.  They are predicting Congress will become a single largest party and BJP has to settle down with second place.  So, it is going to be a negative result for the BJP who are trying to prove their dominance in the Southern states.
