Over-Whelming Response For Hyd Metro Rail

Hyderabad Metro Rail received a rousing welcome from public. Around 1 lakh people travelled on the Day 1 & heavy rush was noticed at Miyapur, Ameerpet, Uppal and Nagole Stations. By 5 pm on Wednesday, 50,000 people had experienced the Metro Ride.

Apart from asking HMR & Police to be on high alert as the crowd could get heavy on Day 2, KTR said: 'I am told while day 1 of Hyd Metro broke all records, on day 2 also we are noticing a surge. Appeal to fellow Hyderabadis to be considerate to kids, elderly & other passengers. It’s our metro, our pride'.

HMR Managing Director NVS Reddy claimed to be delighted with the overwhelming response Day 1.

About 14 Metro Rails have been operated in the 30-km stretch. 7 Metro Rails had run in the 13-km stretch between Miyapur-Ameerpet and a Rail arrived after every 8 minutes. 7 other Metro Rails were operated in Nagole-Ameerpet route covering 17-km and Rail arrived after every 15 minutes.
