Hyd Traffic Dept to Bring Special Technology to tackle Honking!

Update: 2022-04-21 11:06 GMT
Pollution is a big menace for us and sound pollution can be stopped a bit if the commuters stay away from unnecessary honking. However, the commuters lose their cool when they are stuck in traffic as a result they keep on honking horns, which brings irritation to other commuters.

As a piece of good news to one and all, the Traffic Police Department had started working on reducing the sound pollution and cracking down on those who honk horns for no reason. As a shot in the arm for the efforts, the department is giving its best efforts in bringing a mechanism to deal with such commuters.

Media reports say that plans are underway to set up acoustic cameras across the city so that the violators can be easily traced. Based on the sound levels coming from the vehicle's horn the authorities will take possible action against them. The action might start from a fine amount.

To see if the mechanism works or not, a trial run of the special cameras was conducted recently and the outcome is satisfactory. Now the concerned authorities are said to be busy taking all the required measures and steps in bringing the new technology into active use.

As the new system detects the vehicles based on the sound it is making, various issues like legal and others should have to be checked. Once it is clear that the new system will not land in any legal trouble, the new mechanism might be introduced.
