In the Airports Council International (ACI)-Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey for the year 2016, Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA)has been ranked No.1 in the World in terms of Service Quality. While score was 4.4 (on a scale of 5) in 2009, It went up to 4.9 in 2016.
It's been 9 years since the operations of RGIA began. GMR planned the Airport Project in such a way that it would cater to 12 million passengers per year. Last year, 20 percent growth in the passengers has been recorded.
GHIAL CEO SGH Kishore thanks Civil Aviation Ministry, Passengers, Stakeholders, Customs, Immigration, CISF and Airlines after receiving the top honour. He disclosed about the plans for expansion of RGIA to increase its capacity to 20 MPPA (Million Passengers Per Annum) from current 15 MPPA.
ASQ Award Ceremony is scheduled to happen from October 16-18th at the 27th ACI Africa/World Annual General Assembly, Conference & Exhibition in Port Louis, Mauritius.
