Telangana state has successfully bagged another investement. International transportation network company Uber announced that it would invest $50 million in Hyderabad to set up its facility. It will be the biggest outside its headquarters in the US.
The US based transport company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Telangana government. The officials said that the new establishment creates thousands of jobs and entrepreneurship opportunities for the state. The facility will support Uber's operations across India.
It will make Hyderabad the largest Uber office in the world outside the US," Sidharth Shanker, general manager Hyderabad, Uber told reporters.
Recently Telangana Transport Department said that no permission has been granted to Uber taxi services to operate in the state. The state transport department has also advised people, including cab owners and drivers, not to be associated with Uber company in any form.
