2007 Hyd Bomb Blasts Case: 2 Convicted!

11 Years after the bomb blasts at the Lumbini Park and Gokul Chat, The National Investigative Agency (NIA) special court in Hyderabad convicted two people (Indian Mujahideen (IM) operatives MD Akbar Ismail Chowdhari, Aneeq Shafique Sayeed) and acquitted two others (Farooq Sharfuddin Tarqash, MD Sadiq Israr Shaik). Quantum of punishment will be pronounced on next Monday.

About 7 people were named as Accused in 2007 Hyderabad Twin Blasts Case. Three Accused (IM Founder Riyaz Bhatkal, Iqbal Bhatkal, Amir Reza Khan) are still absconding.

Three Chargesheets have been filed by the Investigation Agencies in connection with the twin blasts case. Prosecution said Riyaz Bhatkal was the mastermind behind the blasts. While Aneeq planted bombs at Lumbini Park, Bomb Planted by Ismail Chowdhari failed to explode.

As many as 44 people were killed and 68 others suffered injuries in Hyderabad Twin Blasts. People of Hyd are happy with Today's verdict but want the remaining accused to be punished as well.
