Teenager donates Blood to buy Smartphone

The desire to buy smartphone made a teenager donate his blood at the Kohli Pathology and Blood Bank in Lucknow for Rs 500 per each unit. Raid conducted by Uttar Pradesh's Heath Department on the blood bank revealed the news.

Reportedly, Three teenagers who were caught donating blood are medically unfit and they are lured by the management with cash. The blood bank was sealed and 3 persons were arrested in connection with the case.

One of the three Teenagers said he has been saving money for some time to buy a smartphone and couldn't resist when an agent offered money in exchange of blood. It is learnt that his father died 4 years ago and mothers works in a clinic for monthly salary of Rs 3,000.

As per norms, Legal Age for blood donation is 18 years and hemoglobin count of the donor should be 13 or above.
