If Govt Won’t Take A Decision On Lockdown

Hearing a petition on Coronavirus situations in Telangana, the High Court made sensational comments. The High Court issued directives to the government to take a call on lockdown or curfew within 48 hours.

The Chief Justice of the High Court Hima Kohli said if the government won't take a call on this, the Court will have to issue directions in this regard.

Corona tests should be done in the state outskirts. Measures to be taken that RT-PCR test report will be out in 24 hours. Status report on Corona situations should be submitted on 22 of this month, the Court said.

Directing that details on Corona cases reported in the wards in the GHMC limits, the High Court ordered that restrictions should be imposed on marriages and other functions in the state.

Expressing dissatisfaction over the mistakes in the report submitted to the court by DGP and Health officials, the Court adjourned the next hearing of the case for the 23rd of this month.

"Nodal officers should be appointed in hospitals to give suggestions. Covid-19 details should be uploaded on the Health.telangana.gov.in website. Action should be taken, if people gather in large numbers for Marriages, functions. Tests should be conducted at Interstate border," the High Court said.

In the last 24 hours, Telangana added 5,093 new infections, a record high in recent times. The total number of cases in the state has zoomed to 3,51,424. With 15 new fatalities, the total casualties rose to 1824.
