I'm An Anti-social Element In Rajini's View: Kamal

Update: 2018-06-04 11:54 GMT
The expansion works of Sterlite copper plant in Thoothukudi attracted huge protests from the people and they have taken a violent turn.  The issue has created sensation across India as 13 people lost their lives in the firing incident. Tamil Nadu government and the police department had to face severe criticism for the improper handling of the sensitive situation. The Supreme Court has passed orders to stop the expansion works in the factory.

Meanwhile, Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth's response to the Thoothukudi incident has become a controversy.  Rajini said that if people come on to the roads for the solutions to their problems, Tamil Nadu will become a graveyard. He said that problems will not get solutions with protests.  He said that anti-social elements joined the protests and encouraged the violence.  Several people raised objections towards Rajinikanth comments.  Universal Actor, Makkal Neethi Maiyam president Kamal Haasan seriously condemned Rajinikanth comments.

While interacting with the media at the Chennai Airport he said, "Rajini is treating protesters as anti-social elements.. if that's the case, I'm also an anti-social element."  He gave a call to the people to fight against the police if they point guns towards them. He said that people take up protests and agitations to ask the solutions to their problems.  He said that the violence should be controlled in the protests but protests should not be controlled.   It is interesting to see how Rajini is going to respond to Kamal's comments.
