Ilayaraja has been working for 42 years at recording theatre in Prasad Studio, Saligramam. That has been his recording studio for so long that people associate the place with his name more, these days.
He received a notice to vacate the premises from Prasad Studios management. Ilayaraja asked the studio to not interfere in his peaceful recording sessions.
But they denied to let him have access at the studio premises and Bharathiraja, RK Selvamani, K. Bhagyaraja and several other stalwarts from Tamil Industry, tried to mediate talks between Ilayaraja and the management but they failed.
Ilayaraja went to local civil court in Chennai to settle the issue. He submitted a plea to the court asking to let him use the recording theatre like earlier for his works.
Court directed them to solve the issue amicably through talks. As the multiple attempts at talks have failed and Civil Court is taking time to solve his case, Ilayaraja asked High Court to intervene.
Justice Bharatidasan once again directed both the parties to arrive on an amicable solution through talks using court mediation. As the talks still failed and Ilayaraja expressed that he is ready for an amicable solution that studio wants but he needs to be given free access for 2-3 months to complete his on-going projects.
Studio denied this request and hence, the HC judge directed XV Assistant judge to mediate and solve the issue in two weeks.
