India's Covid-19 Caseload Mounts To 1.02 Crore

Compared to the peaks of the rapid spared of the ongoing novel Coronavirus faced in September, India fared well in reducing the daily count of the fresh Coronavirus infections. However, this did not stop India from surpassing the milestones.

In the last 24 hours, India registered not less than 20,021 fresh Covid-19 infections, which take the total toll of the infections in the country to a whopping 1,02,07,871.

The other day, India registered 18,732 fresh infections, which is said to be the lowest fresh cases registered in a single since the 1st of July.

However, a majority of the Covid-19 patients have been recovered so far which is a good sign of progress. A total of 97,82,669 patients have recovered so far, including 21,131 fresh recoveries registered in the past 24 hours. Active cases stood at 2,77,301.

Looking at the casualties, 279 fresh casualties were registered in the past 24 hours across the states, pushing the total casualties in connection with the pandemic in the country to 1,47,901.

Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said, so far a total of 16,88,18,054, samples have been tested in the country, while not less than 7,15,397 samples were tested on Sunday alone.

Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, the winter sessions of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly was postponed after 61 infections were detected in the Assembly house, ahead of sessions.

Globally, the total infections have surpassed the huge milestone of 80.7 million mark. More than 1.76 million patients who tested positive for the pandemic have lost their lives so far.
