A day after surpassing the mammoth 71-lakh mark, India witnessed a massive dip in the fresh Coronavirus infections. In the past 24 hours, over 55,000 fresh infections were detected.
According to the information provided by the Union Health Ministry, as many as 55,342 fresh Corona infections were detected in India, which pushes the total toll to 71,75,881.
Over the past few weeks, Coronavirus infections have been decreasing gradually as a piece of good news. The fresh cases detected in the past 24 hours are the lowest in around two months.
The data showed, not less than 706 patients have succumbed to the novel Coronavirus in the past 24 hours. So far, a total of 1,09,856 patients have breathed their last battling the virus.
On the other hand, the total recoveries in the country zoomed to 6,227,295, with 77,760 patients beating the virus in the past 24 hours. There are 8,38,729 active cases.
Andhra Pradesh witnessed 3,224 fresh cases on Monday, which takes the total toll of the cases to 7,58,951. So far, 6,256 patients have succumbed to the virus.
Telangana's caseload rose to 2,14,792, including 1708 fresh infections detected in the past 24 hours. With a mortality rate of 0.57 percent, 1233 patients lost their lives in the state.
The global toll of Coronavirus infections mounted to 38,029,249 so far. While 28,587,949 patients have been recovered, 1,085,092 patients have succumbed to the contagious disease so far.
