India Reported 75,809 Fresh Cases, Toll Surpassed 42-Lakh Mark

Day after reporting the highest surge of fresh infections and becoming the second worst-affected nation globally, India reported over 75,000 new Corona infections in the past 24 hours.

The data issued by the Union Health Ministry said, in the last 24 hours, India reported as many as 75,809 fresh infections taking the total cases in the country to 42,80,442.

On Sunday and Saturday India reported over 90,000 fresh cases and the case count increased in India at once. The cases reported in these two days made India surpass Brazil.

On the other hand, 73,521 patients managed to recover from the virus and got discharged from the hospitals accordingly in the past 24 hours. Total recoveries in the country rose to 3,323,950, while the active cases stood at 8,83,697.

The total fatalities in connection with the virus surpassed the 72,000 -mark and rose to 72,775, including 1,133 people breathing their last battling the contagious disease in the past 24 hours.

Telangana reported 2,392 fresh infections in the last 24 hours taking the total tool of cases to 1,45,163. So far, 906 patients succumbed to the contagious disease in the state.

On Monday, Andhra Pradesh added as many as 8,368 infections and the total infections in the state rose to 5,06,493, while the virus claimed 4,487 lives so far.
