India Reports 10,667 Fresh Cases And 380 Fatalities In The Past 24 Hours
In what it could be a shocker, India reported 10,667 fresh cases in the past 24 hours taking the toll of the total cases to 343,091. This is a sigh of relief as for the past three days India reported more than 11,000 cases.
Though the fresh cases dropped, fatalities reached an alarming level with 380 casualties in the past 24 houses and the total fatalities stood at 9,900. Out of the 380 fatalities, Maharashtra alone reported 178 fatalities.
On a brighter note, 1.8 lakh patients managed to recover from the dreaded virus and the active cases of the pandemic in the country stood at 153,178.
Tamil Nadu and Delhi the worts-hit states in India after Maharashtra saw a dip in the fresh cases in the past 24 hours. While Tamil Nadu reported more than 1800 fresh cases, Delhi reported 1,647 fresh infections.
The 12-day strict lockout will be active in four districts in Tamil Nadu from June 19th. The state government announced this move to combat the spread of the virus.
On the other hand, the cases of the pandemic reached 6,456 in Andhra Pradesh with over 300 cases reported in the past 24 hours. So far 86 people lost their lives to the virus.
Fellow Telugu state Telangana reported 219 fresh cases on Monday taking the toll of the cases in the state to 5193, while 187 lives climbed in the virus so far.
Looking at the global scenario, the total cases reached over 81.07 lakhs, while 4.38 lakh fatalities were reported due to the pandemic. On the other hand, 41.87 lakhs people managed to recover from the virus so far.
