India Reports Highest Spike Of Fresh Cases, Toll Surpasses 4 Million-Mark

In a shocking development, India reported the highest spike of fresh cases in a single day with  86,432 fresh pandemic cases and the total pandemic infections in the country pass surged 4 million-mark and rose to 4,023,179.

In the past 24 hours, as many as 1,089 patients breathed their last breath in the country taking the toll of the total fatalities to 69,561.

Looking at the recoveries of the virus, 70,072 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. This new addition takes the total recoveries to 31,07,223 and the recovery rate rose to 77.2 percent. The active cases stood at  8,46,395.

Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh turned out as the top five worst-hit nations in India. These states account for around 62 percent of active cases.

In the last 24 hours, Telangana reported 2,511 fresh Coronavirus and the total Coronavirus infections in the state mounted to 1,38,395. So far, 877 patients succumbed to the dreaded virus.

The ongoing pandemic left as many as 26,795,701 patients left infected with the contagious disease, while 18,880,235 patients have been recovered from the virus so far. 876,032 patients lost their lives to the virus.
