India Reports The Highest Single-Day Cases Of COVID-19

The novel coronavirus originated from the Wuhan province of China is spreading its deadly virus in India as 3900 fresh cases of COVID-19 were reported in the country in the past 24 hours. This marks the highest spike in the country ever since the outbreak started.

In the past 24 hours, 195 succumbed to the fatal virus in India, takin the count of COVID-19 fatalities in the country to 1568. The total count of the COVID-19 cases in India stood at 46,433.

The active cases in India stood at 32,138 as 12,727 patients managed to recover from the dreaded virus and got discharged from the hospitals accordingly. The data of the Union Health Ministry states that more than 11 lakh COVID-19 tests were conducted in the country as of now.

Maharashtra continues to be the worst-hit state in the country due to the COVID-19 as the state reported 771 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus and claiming 35 deaths taking the toll to 14,541.

144 section was imposed in Mumbai as the city has turned out as the COVID-19 hotspot. In Maharashtra, Mumbai is reporting more and more positive cases of the novel coronavirus.

Talking about worldwide cases of COVID-19 surpassed the 3.6 million-mark while 251,000 deaths were claimed globally. The United States claimed more than 68,000 deaths to the pandemic so far.
